The mission of the Acadiana Symphony & Conservatory of Music (ASO&C) is to provide excellence in orchestral performances of diverse repertoire and educational experiences for the inspiration and enrichment of the Acadiana community, including those with little to no access to performing arts. ASO is one of only three in the United States that is associated with a Conservatory of Music. This unique partnership sets ASO apart from other symphony organizations in the country. The mission of the ASO and its Conservatory is unified in order to achieve a cohesive approach in the development of high quality performances and educational programs.

Do-Re-ME is an original 12-unit Pre-K and Kindergarten arts-integrated curriculum created by the ASO Conservatory faculty that uses music to reinforce comprehension in Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies in schools that service the most at-risk students in our community. In the classroom, each teacher's existing lesson plan uses activities developed along a four-point model with music integrating the topic being taught, targeting educational content at the pre-school 4 and Kindergarten levels. The years between 3 and 6 are critical for forming a solid academic foundation and learning the ground rules of human behavior.
