Come celebrate New Year's Eve at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room on Saturday December 31 from 8:00pm to midnight. The jam packed evening of entertainment include performances by the Listening Room All-Stars, including southern soul and R&B singers Uncle Chess, April Jackson and Xavier Shorts, as well as blues rapper Lee Tyme. Special guests are the 'King and Queen of the Gut Bucket blues,' Smokehouse Porter and Miss Mamie, blues singer Keagan Soto and 'the thinking man's drinking band' The Rakers. We hold weekly Argentine Tango classes on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at the Manship Theatre, 100 Lafayette Street, in downtown Baton Rouge. We have a 6 week progressive Beginner Class Series from 6:30-7:30 PM followed by a 15 minute break for practice. This is followed by an Intermediate Class from 7:45-8:45 and then a Practica (practice dance) from 8:45-9:30. Price is $5 per class.

Of Moving Colors Productions, Baton Rouge’s contemporary dance-theatre company, launches their 30th Anniversary Season with a modern adaptation of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. The work features choreography by Artistic Director Garland Goodwin Wilson alongside other local choreographers Courtney Landry, Bethany Jones McCullough, Carrie Tatum, and Roxi Victorian.
