Slam Camp 2016

Slam Camp 2016 is a three-week arts program that focuses on the writing and performance of spoken work poetry.  Forward Arts Slam Camp is designed to promote community, advocacy, critical civic engagement, social activism, and to inspire young people to explore their identities and define themselves through writing and performance.  Camp instructors include Forward Arts' staff Desiree Dallagiacomo, Donney Rose, and Chancelier 'xero' Skidmore and more special guest instructors/lecturers.

Camp dates are June 13th - July 1st (Monday-Friday) from 8:30am-4:30pm.  Slam Camp will take place on LSU's campus in Audubon Hall (Rooms 101 & 102).  The cost of slam camp is $150.00 for new students, free for returning camp participants and $50 for Forward Arts' WordCrew students who are non-returning participants.  Scholarship opportunities are available!

Finals night feature, internationally acclaimed award-wining poet, Danez Smith.
