Raise the Woof: Comedy for a Cause 2016

  • Manship Theatre 100 Lafayette Street Baton Rouge, LA, 70801 United States (map)

A stand up comedy tour that works with local animal welfare organizations in the cities in which it plays, Raise the Woof gives a voice to animals through laughter while spreading awareness and helping raise funds.

Following a sold out event in 2015, Raise the Woof returns to Baton Rouge for the third year in a row and will feature a three-comedian show starring Bad Boy RedBean, a silent auction, 50/50 Split-the-Pot Raffle, light hors d'oeuvres, live music and a cash bar.  All proceeds from the evening will benefit Spay Baton Rouge.

RedBean has established himself as one of the premiere comedians in New Orleans.  Nearly a decade ago, his improv comedy troupe was scheduled to perform at a stand-up comedy show hosted by Dr. Ken Jeong (The Hangover Trilogy).  The show was lacking a few comedians so Dr. Ken asked RedBean if he'd ever done stand-up before.  His reply, "No, but I am sure I can do something."  That night RedBean was born, and since then he has added many credits to his belt: Grudge Match with Sylvester Stallone, Shark Lake with Dolph Lundgren, Comic View, The Asshole Monologues, The Galatoires Monologues, Let a Brotha Talk, I Love My Kids... But and a numerous other plays and stand-up performances.
