Celebration in the Oaks in City Park, the beloved and, judging by the crowds, exceptionally popular holiday lights festival in New Orleans central park, will light up the sky starting on November 25. Thousands of visitors pour into the park to see the magical winter spectacle, for which the park’s famous oaks are swathed in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights across its twenty-five acres, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, Carousel Gardens, and, of course, the train. The lights last until January 1. Sunday–Thursday from 6 pm–10 pm; Friday and Saturday from 6 pm–11 pm, although not on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve. It is recommended that guests buy and print tickets beforehand. Tons of related activities, too.
